1/3 of companies in Albania are managed by women

In recent years, women in the role of entrepreneur are becoming more and more numerous. Data published by INSTAT highlight that women own 31.2% of companies in Albania.

What stands out is that in most cases, businesses run by women have 1 to 4 employees.

They are mainly focused on “Trade” and “Other Services” where the highest participation of women in decision-making is noted, respectively with 34.2% and 40.2%.

According to statistics, women make up 47% of the total workforce and the sector with the lowest representation of them is construction with 17%.

Tirana and Elbasan are the two counties where more than half of the enterprises are concentrated and where 64% of the total employees are employed.
