Prime Minister Edi Rama announced this Thursday that the government is close to wrapping up the support package for 1 million individuals, to mitigate the effects of inflation.

Through a post on Facebook, Rama confirmed that beneficiaries in this financial aid package will include pensioners, families on welfare, heads of families, paraplegics, tetraplegics, persons with disabilities, those suffering from workplace disabilities, as well as civil servants.

In addition, the prime minister said that this package is also aimed at completely eliminating the effects of inflation on basic consumption for the above-mentioned categories.

“HAPPY NEW YEAR! The government is finishing up the Great Package in support of 1 million individuals, to significantly help Albanian families cope with this busy winter, reduce the effects of war and inflation on basic consumption for pensioners, families that are on welfare, especially mothers in the scheme of economic assistance, paraplegics, quadriplegics, disabled people, the workplace disabled, as well as civil servants – giving more to those who earn less, but also leaving no one without support.

The Big Package, which is estimated to reach well over 8 billion ALL for all involved categories, will be finished by the end of the day today and be distributed in the first days of January.

This is the government of the majority, not of the few, and the facts and figures show that the volume of financial support for those who earn less as well as categories in need, over the years since our administration came to power (not counting the massive funding for the Earthquake Reconstruction or the War against the Pandemic ) is several times higher than in all previous administrations combined”, wrote Rama on Facebook.
