1500 athletes from Albania and Europe part of “Skampa 2024 Half Marathon and Minimarathon”

This Sunday in the city of Elbasan, the “Half Marathon and Mini Marathon Skampa 2024” took place. This sports activity of international proportions took place for the second time in this city with the participation of 1500 athletes from Albania, the Region, Europe and other countries from different continents. Among them were prominent athletics names from all age groups.

The mayor of Elbasan, Gledian Llatja, greeting the participants who were extremely well received by the locals, said that the aim of this municipality is for this activity to return to tradition, as it has a great impact on the promotion of Elbasan and has an impact on the development of tourism.

During the races in the distance of 5km, 10km and 21km, there was a strong competition among the majority of the participants, thus showing the maximum appreciation of this sports event which was followed with great interest by hundreds and thousands of Elbasana along the roads traveled by the athletes.

This sports event has already become a tradition and will always take place during the month of October, which is the month of awareness for the prevention of breast cancer, and is intended to convey numerous awareness messages in the fight against breast cancer, as well as protection children’s rights. Also, the participants in the “Skampa 2024” competitions called for better health, well-being and a lot of positivity in life for all age groups.

In the Skampa Elbasan 2024 half-marathon and mini-marathon, runners and professional athletes from 15 countries of the world participated, such as England, Ukraine, Austria, USA, Slovenia, Germany, etc.

At the end of the activity, prizes were awarded to the winners of the 5 km, 10 km and 21 km races.

For the smooth running of the activity, the police services of Elbasani were activated as well as 120 employees of the Elbasani Multi-Sports Club.
