A group of tourists from Belgium found a unique and original way to celebrate their friend’s birthday.

The 16 members of the group traveled to Gjirokastër, where, dressed in traditional Albanian folk costumes, they celebrated along the city’s cobbled streets. Some of the Belgian tourists had already visited the “stone city” multiple times, praising its beautiful nature and the hospitality of the locals.

“I love Albanian culture and traditions. We had our friend’s birthday, and we thought of celebrating it here, in this beautiful city.”

“We came here as tourists. A friend of ours is celebrating his birthday, and we thought of coming as a group to spend and celebrate it here in Albania. The weather is stable, the nature is beautiful, so we are having a great time.”

As spring arrives, Gjirokastër and its surrounding areas are welcoming an increasing number of tourists, mainly from abroad. Popular among visitors are historical tours, local traditions, and the stunning natural landscapes of Albania’s southern region.
