Police report that the investigation leading to the bust of 45.5 kilos of cocaine hidden in a meat container at the port of Durres is still ongoing.
Reportedly, the manager of the company and a customs officer contracted by them, have been arrested.
The container coming from Brazil was supposed to transport chicken on account of a trading firm in North Macedonia.
“As a result of a thorough search in the container, inside the cargo with chicken meat we found 40 packs of what we believe is cocaine weighted at 45,5 kilos”, a police statement read.
