2000 families will have the opportunity to install solar panels for water heating at a significantly reduced price. The government plans to reopen applications on February 24, requiring citizens to cover only 30% of the system’s total cost.

As part of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure’s program, the government will subsidize more than half of the cost of installing solar panels in homes. This initiative aims to promote energy efficiency and reduce electricity expenses for households.

The initiative was announced by Minister Belinda Balluku, and applications will officially open on February 24. A similar program was launched last year, attracting great interest, as solar panels can lower electricity bills by approximately 20%.

Currently, a solar panel system for home installation costs around 140,000 ALL on the market. However, under this program, 2000 families will be able to acquire it for just 40,000 ALL, as the government will cover 70% of the total price.

Until February 20, companies offering solar panels and installation services will be required to submit their offers, along with pricing details.

In the final week of February, applications will be submitted via eficenca.al, and applicants will need to provide necessary documents such as a certificate of ownership, electricity bill, and property registration documents to qualify for the program.
