During last night, so far, about 15 cases have been presented to the emergency department of the Dibra Regional Hospital, while about 10 cases have been presented to the pediatrics department with the same symptoms of abdominal pain and vomiting.
The area from which these patients come is supplied with drinking water from the Saponika water supply, so the suspicions are mainly about the contamination of the drinking water.
Water samples were taken by NJVKSH and the first microbial analyses, which came out without loads, came out. Today, the results of the bacteriological tests taken for analysis at the national laboratory in Tirana are expected.
Since yesterday, the institutions have notified the residents of the Kastriot, Fushë Çidhan, Arras, and part of the Tomin Unit villages not to consume the water, or to boil it before use.
According to the information in pediatrics there are no new cases, only in the hospital there are 15 cases since yesterday. The first suspicions are about a possible virus.
