Deputy US Ambassador Demian Smith met on Thursday with the leader of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha.
The visit comes two days ahead of the protest called by former PM Sali Berisha which aims to enforce a decision to remove Basha from office following a referendum voted by party members.
Not much was revealed of the 90-minute meeting between the two officials that began shortly after some Democrat lawmakers, and members of the party’s youth group tried to enter the DP.
