On Tuesday, 49 asylum seekers from Egypt, Bangladesh, Gambia, and Ivory Coast arrived at the port of Shëngjin.
They were brought to Albania by the Italian military navy ship Cassiopea.
After undergoing the control and registration process at Shëngjin Port, their requests will be reviewed by the Rome Court of Appeal rather than the Civil Court.
The Italian Court’s decision regarding their asylum requests is expected within 48 hours, by Thursday. If their requests are denied, they will be returned to the neighboring country.
