More than 49,000 calls for medical assistance have been directed to the National Emergency since January 1. The emergency teams have made about 15,000 visits to patients homes.
The head of this center, Skënder Brataj, in an interview for Euronews Albania, says that a good part of the calls are the result of concerns caused by the flu situation.
“347 visits is the average number of visits to patients home, which means that there is a presence of infectious diseases and influenza”, Skënder Brataj, Director of the National Emergency.
But which are the concerns that force patients to seek emergency care?
“Temperature, cough, pain, when every part of body hurts”, – Skënder Brataj, Director of the National Emergency.
As for the epidemiological situation, referring to calls to the National Emergency, Brataj says that the figures are the same as a year ago.
Currently, in Albania, there are about 16,000 people a week who present themselves to the doctor as a result of being affected by the flu. According to epidemiologists, the infection curve is decreasing, while children remain the most affected.
