The 4th found of voting for the new president will be held on June 4, at 18:00 CET in Parliament.

The proposal made by SP’s caucus leader, Taulant Balla, received the required number of votes by socialist MPs during the meeting of the Leader Conference held this Tuesday.

During his word, Balla proposed that the last deadline for the submission of presidential candidatures would be June 4, before 12:00 CET.

“I propose that the fourth round of voting for the new president should be Saturday, June 4, at 18:00 CET. In regards to the second point, the deadline for depositing the candidatures will be June 4, at 12:00. Meanwhile, the deadline for assessing the candidatures will be June 4, at 16:00 PM,” – said Balla.

The Socialist Party will be holding a meeting of its Leadership at 17:00 when amongst other things, the agenda will include discussions on the procedures for electing the new president.

Yesterday, the plenum ended without a single presidential nominee, therefore all 3 rounds for electing the new president have failed.

According to the Constitution, during the 4th and 5th rounds of voting, the president can be elected with a minimum of 71 votes.
