The police in Gjirokastra have arrested 5 people on the charge of providing assistance for illegal crossing of the border.

As part of the coded operation Turn, citizens M.B., 19 years old, A. T., 28 years old, J. S., 20 years old, I. Ç., 28 years old, all four residents of Elbasan, were arrested for the criminal offense “Aiding illegal border crossing”, committed in cooperation with the citizen D. K., 22 years old, resident of Elbasan, for the criminal offense “Supporting the perpetrator of the crime”.

“Citizens I. Ç. and J. S. did not obey the sign made by the Police services to stop on the road axis “Kardhiqi Bridge-Tepelen”, but they quickly continued the movement and abandoned the vehicle, as in their vehicle they had some immigrants from third countries who were transporting them in the direction of Shkodra with the aim of illegally crossing the border to Montenegro.

Immediately, the Police services were put in pursuit and as a result of coordination with DVP Fier, in the place called “Levan Roundabout”, it was possible to capture them and the citizen D. K., who was helping citizens I. Ç. and J. S. to leave, transporting them with his vehicle, after abandoning their vehicle that was transporting immigrants.

While the citizens A. T. and M. B. were driving around with the “BMW” type vehicle, to control the road and to signal the citizens I. Ç. and J. S., about the presence of the Police services”, informed the police.
