Kosovo’s health ministry announced on Sunday that 602 citizens tested positive for COVID-19.
In the last 24 hours, the virus claimed 6 lives taking the official death count to 3,074.
More than 207,200 have won the battle against COVID-19 in the country of some 1.93 million people.
The number of active cases is estimated at around 12,650.
Kosovo has one of the highest vaccination rates among Western Balkan countries with more than 810,700 citizens fully jabbed.
In a recent Facebook post, the National Institute of Public Health blamed the highly contagious Omicron variant as the key factor behind rising daily infection rates and urged citizens to get vaccinated and respect the pandemic preventative measures in force.
