Education expert, Albano Zhapaj considered the change in the minimum average required to be accepted to university a positive sign for students and the system as a whole.
According to him, the 2017 decision which set the threshold at a minimum average of 7.5, was a mistake because it prevented thousands of students from attending university.
“At least 8000 high school graduates were prevented from accessing different degrees like chemistry, biology, math, geography, history, literature or foreign languages,” – said Zhapaj.
Based on his calculations, as many as 40 thousand high school graduates might have been excluded from their graduate studies
