COVID-19 claimed the lives of seven citizens on Saturday, including a 27-year-old woman.

Authorities have not released any further clarifications on the young women’s death.

In addition, the health ministry said that another 629 tested positive.

According to estimates, there are around 6,907 active cases across the country, of which nearly half are in Tirana.

On Saturday, authorities noted that 441 people had recovered, while 153 patients are being treated in hospital.

The official death toll in Albania is 2,870.
