7530 police officers to ensure conduct of local elections

The Director of the Department for Public Order and Security Rebani Jaupi gave a statement to the media, regarding the measures that the State Police has undertaken to guarantee order and security during the election process this Sunday.

Jaupi said that 7530 police officers will be at the ready during the May 14th vote. 5211 of them will be engaged in guarding election facilities, Jaupi underlined while emphasizing that the entire police force will be on full alert.

“7530 police officers have been trained and will be engaged in different tasks throughout the electoral process, according to police management levels. 5211 police officers will be committed to securing the voting centers and will intervene if required by the election commissions or the CEC. 305 civilian vehicles will be used in order to fulfill the obligations of the State Police, to guarantee public order and safety during the election process,” Jaupi said during a press conference this Friday.
