Nine people have died from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours, whereas 218 new cases have been identified.
Positive cases were confirmed after results came back on 2.008 tests, which also confirmed that 252 citizens were recovered.
185,569 citizens have won their battle with the virus since the beginning of the pandemic in the country.
In addition, there are presently 7.993 known active cases in the entire country, the majority of whom are in Tirana.
COVID-designated hospitals are currently treating a total of 155 patients, 17 of whom are exhibiting severe forms of the virus.
The Ministry of Health continued its appeals to citizens to get their vaccines as soon as possible. Citizens over the age of 16, can get their vaccine at any of the closest vaccination centers closest to them, or a healthcare center. Vaccination is also open to all children over 12 that suffer from illnesses affecting the immunity system that have a doctor’s recommendation.
