Yesterday, dozens of garbage bags were taken out of the Komani lake in Albania, by environmental activists from Kosovo and Albania.

Hoping to rescue the holiday season, in one of the country’s main touristic destinations in the Northern region, activists took on this initiative in order to tackle a threatening ecologic catastrophe.

Euronews Albania’s correspondent in the city of Shkoder, Dori Gjerga, reported after his conversations with volunteers and residents in the area that the pollution in the lake had become a significant issue for them.
