The Italian Ambassador to Albania Fabrizio Bucci visited today the city of Elbasan.
He is the third diplomat from the foreign diplomatic corps to visit the city ahead of the general elections due on the 25 of April.
Ambassador Bucci met with representatives of the main political parties as well as with the prefect of Elbasan, Klevis Xhoxhi.
Speaking to the media, the ambassador said election day must be a “day for the triumph of democracy”, and a time when people are tasked to “elect who will rule for the next 4 years” and not be characterized by moments of clashes.
Ambassador Bucci urged parties to refrain from violence and avoid conflicts.
