The second electoral survey conducted by the company MRB and Euronews Albania revealed that it will be a close call for Prime Minister Edi Rama and the leader of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha in the district of Durres.
University professor, Iris Luarasi, said that in the past days there have been several indicators suggesting upward trends for DP’s leader.
“This was to be expected and it has been anticipated from the beginning that the difference between the two prime minister candidates will narrow. A rising trend for Mr. Basha started two weeks ago, ” she said.
Luarasi also pointed out the significant decline of the Socialist Movement for Integration and attributed it to the leader of the Democrats.
“What catches the attention is a fragment of the SMI, as there is a huge downfall, and I believe that part is going to Basha. I have always been a partisan of people that once left the DP were joining the SMI at the 2017 elections, now they’re returning to the DP in a sense,” said Luarasi.
