The State Election Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi, responding to an inquiry from President Ilir Meta, ruled out any possibility for the manipulation of technological devices that will be used for the first time at the general elections, and asserted that the voting procedure is “100% safe”.

“There is a scenario that there will be interference at the electronic voting that will take place for the first time at Administrative Unit 10”, claimed President Meta.

During a press conference where electronic devices were put to the test, State Election Commissioner Celibashi dismissed the president’s claim and ruled out any possibility for interference.

“The process is 100% safe in every perspective and there is no chance that someone else can manipulate the process. The voting procedures are 100% safe, the integrity and the results will reflect the will of the people at 100%”, said Celibashi.

The biometric identification technology will be used throughout the country, while voting and ballot counting will only be tested at Administrative Unit 10 in the capital in 32 polling stations.
