On Saturday evening, 40,800 doses of the ‘AstraZeneca’ vaccine arrived in Albania through the COVAX program.

The news was announced by PM Edi Rama, who also added that an additional 250 thousand doses are expected to arrive in the days to come.

“40,800 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine have arrived, through the Covax instrument, while we are expecting another 250,000 in the following days, so that we can further increase the high rhythms of vaccination and hug life, the sun and the sea, in the new holiday season,” wrote Rama on his Facebook account.

Also present in the International Airport “Mother Theresa” were the two ministers of Rama’s administration, Ogerta Manastirliu and Arben Ahmetaj.

They emphasized that their objective is to vaccinate 500 thousand people in Albania by the month of May.
