While commenting on the findings of the most recent survey conducted by MRB and Euronews Albania, the former-Minister of Justice, Ylli Manjani said that SMI has damaged SP in two pairs of elections, respectively in 2005 and 2009.
“SMI has damaged SP twice and this happened in 2005 and 2009 and in all the other elections the rise of SMI hasn’t matched its damages to SP. So, in both these elections, they were the decisive factor, where the division from within the left brought in power the right and this was the obvious effect of SMI,” he said.
Manjani also emphasized that SMI will most likely return to the old model and damage SP.
According to him, as long as the survey shows both parties racing head-to-head at a very close difference, SMI will be the force that makes the difference on April 25th.
“If we are talking about SMI returning to 2005 or 2009, I believe it will do the same damage. This survey shows the biggest forces running head-to-head, so SMI will be the one making the difference. It shouldn’t be underestimated. In any case, I am certain SMI will have an effect,” he said.
