During Political Barometer at Euronews Albania, Manjani said that if the Socialist Party wins the elections on April 25th, then the county will enter a dark political cycle because there will be no more opposition.

“If Edi Rama will be confirmed in power with the scenario of 2017, the next day, the opposition in Albania is over, pluralism in Albania is over and we enter a dark political cycle, “said the former Minister of Justice.

Manjani said that the current government has already started to show signs of using politics that restricts people’s freedoms, which puts the country’s future at a great risk.

“Today, we can see some dangerous signs, especially in terms of the political and criminal persecution of journalists and against the free people of this country; these will begin to add up and this is the big problem,” said Manjani.

According to Manjani, Albania is in need of a change in power, where the future government could be a brittle form of power but not dangerous enough as the current political situation in Albania. The Socialist Party on the other hand, according to Manjani is ideal for the next opposition.

“Albania needs a strong opposition, as SP knows very well how to be. It’s their turn to be in opposition and they know how to do it very well. The future government will be a fragile one that won’t solve all the problems in Albania but the situation should at least turn to normal,” said Manjani.
