The US embassy in Albania has responded to the Prosecutor in regards to Tom Doshi, who is running for MP in the April 25th elections.
The Prosecutor asked for information from the US regarding the leader of the Social-Democratic Party as there are doubts that he is affected by the law of decriminalization and as a consequence, shouldn’t exercise the right to race in the upcoming elections.
Sources from the Prosecution Office have told Euronews Albania that the verifications for Tom Doshi will be conducted after the receival of a response from Interpol.
“We are expecting a response regarding Doshi from Interpol,” emphasized our sources.
The US Department of State has declared Tom Doshi persona non grata, while the US ambassador Yuri Kim during her frequent appearances on the media has requested that he doesn’t candidate in the April 25th elections.
Day ago, when Tom Doshi launched his electoral campaign, he answered to ambassador Yuri Kim for the first time, by saying that he is a supporter of the US and that he has played a key role in the ratification of the justice reform in 2015.
“I am a support of the US, I played a key role in the ratification of the justice reform,” he emphasized.
The leader of PSD is racing in the district counties of Tirana and Shkoder for the April 25th elections.
