The Director the National Agency of the Organization of Information, Linda Karçanaj has come out with a reaction regarding the publication of data for 910 thousand voters in Tirana, saying that the e-Albania system doesn’t store any data from its users.

While clarifying that “the data of Albanian citizens getting online services through the unique government portal e-Albania, don’t get stored and have never been stored, not from AKSHI, not from e-Albania,” Karçanaj has emphasized that despite this being forbidden by the law, there is also “no technical way for these data to be used and misused, when they can’t even be stored.”

“The platform and e-Albania are a national treasure. The political attacks made on this strategic investment are anti-national. The government platform of interaction is one of the most important investments of the Albanian government in the last 30 years, built with the Microsoft technology, according to the “Enterprise Service”. The Albanian State only had 6 electronic registers in 2013, where around 680 thousand actions would take place. Today, there are 55 digital databases that interact in real time, ensuring 145 million actions or 221 times more, only in 2020. This number shows the transformation and modernization of the Albanian state. It is certified by the most renowned international institutions,” said Karcanaj.

“At the moment, e-Albania has registered 1.93 million Albanians and businesses that are provided with 1207 types of services online and in real-time, by avoiding long lines, traffic, at times tariffs and even bribes. Public services can be accessed at any time, saving millions of dollars from the lack of tariffs and hundreds of years from long waiting lines’, said Karacanaj, while also adding that these are now part of the past.
