The deputy director of the General State Police, Albert Dervishaj said during a press conference that 5.427 police officers will be deployed on election day to protect electoral management bodies throughout the country.
Dervishaj added that another 535 undercover vehicles will be put to use to guarantee the smooth running of the elections.
Moreover, he said that starting from Friday 74 state institutions will be guarded by the military.
The deputy director of the General State Police called on political subjects to respect election silence, as stipulated by the Electoral Code.
Dervishaj declared that the State Police will maintain under control the entire Albanian territory to avoid potential violations in connection to the electoral process, in line with its institutional competencies.
