The US Ambassador to Albania Yuri Kim met on Saturday with the leader of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha.
Ambassador Kim said the meeting was in line with previous ones with PM Edi Rama and President Ilir Meta, and reiterated that the US “does not support” neither any party or candidate.
I met DP Chair @lulzimbasha_al today, same as I have met Pres @ilirmetazyrtar & PM @ediramaal in last 48 hrs. We reiterate 🇺🇸 does not support any party or candidate. But we absolutely support the right of all 🇦🇱 citizens to vote freely & in peace. pic.twitter.com/G9egTcrMNn

The meeting is taking place at DP’s headquarters one day ahead of the general, while Albanian citizens will be heading to the polls on Sunday to cast their vote for the new government.
US Ambassador Kim has continuously called on political leaders to refrain from violent rhetoric and hate language during the campaign and bar individuals with a suspicious background from running at the April 25 elections.
