The voting process is due to end officially at 7 PM however if there are still voters waiting in line, then the process will continue, reported Euronews Albania journalist.
Communication expert Erla Mëhilli recalled that voting was extended by an hour back in the 2017 elections, which according to her was a disadvantage for the Democrats.
“In 2017, when there was a deal between Rama and Basha, voting was extended by an hour, so it closed at 8 PM. It was a request coming from Rama but that found the agreement of Basha. In my opinion, it was a mistake from the side of the opposition. Edi Rama did not ask for it to do a favor to the opposition”, said Mëhilli.
According to the communication expert, the SP gained 1-2 mandates from the move.
“My conviction is that the SP won 1-2 mandates within that hour”, added Mëhilli.
