The Albanian Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Olta Xhaçka posted a video message stating that Albania “is closer than ever” to EU membership.
“Albania and our government through efforts of titanic proportions have been able to fulfill all the priorities and specific requests, the major one being the reform of the justice system and the consolidation of the rule of law. These have been achieved also thanks to the national consensus of all Albanians”, the minister said, adding that she is certain to all sides have the political will to work on this objective.
#EUROPEDAY🇦🇱🇪🇺 Confident that the 🇪🇺 future of 🇦🇱 and of the #WB will not be compromised in any scenario.
That torch will be in safe hands, our young generation whom will raise the stake of Albania’s name, role and contribution in the European family.

The Ninth of May marks Europe Day. On this day back in 1950, French foreign minister Robert Schuman made his famous speech, also known as the Schuman Declaration, where he proposed the establishment of the European Coal and Steel Community.
Schuman called on France and Germany, as well as other European states, to place their production of coal and steel under a single authority, laying the foundation to a future European federation.
This moment marked the first step towards the creation of what we know today as the European Union.
