The epidemiological situation in Albania continues to show signs of improvement with 14 new cases recorded in the last 24 hours.
Another positive indicator is the sharp decline in active infections across the country to an estimated 875, of which 439 are in Tirana.
More than 128.900 citizens have defeated the virus from the beginning of the pandemic.
Earlier during the day, health minister Ogerta Manastirliu announced that wards treating COVID-19 patients in regional hospitals will shut down amid low number of hospitalizations. Authorities report that there are 43 citizens being treated in hospital premises.
Furthermore, minister Manastirliu asserted that “it is time to review pandemic-related measures”, however cautioning that this must be done in a prudent and “controlled” manner.
The virus has claimed the lives of 2,447 citizens in Albania.
