The government of Kosovo announced a decision to remove several pandemic-related restrictions, including a curfew as well as allowing bars to remain open until 11 PM
Furthermore, citizens will no longer be required to wear a mask in outdoor public areas.
Health minister Arben Vitia said a report from the country’s public healthcare institute indicated that the epidemiological situation is a stable phase as new infections continue to drop.
“The main measures that have the largest impact are as follows: Curfew will be lifted. However, from midnight to 5 AM there will be a ban on groups of more than 10 people, including in outdoor areas, except for family gatherings. Bars and cafes will remain open till 11 PM and citizens walking alone in outdoor public areas will not be required to wear a mask”, declared the health minister.
According to a report cited by the minister, positive cases have dropped by 67.08% in the last two weeks.
The measures are expected to go into force on Monday, May 31.
