The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) discussed on Monday the report on the national polls held in April.
Some of the major concerns pointed out in the report are the misuse of state resources and the predominant claims of electoral fraud, such as vote-buying and selling, across the entire country.
Also concerning is the pressure exerted on civil servants and the public administration.
In addition, the Council of Europe determined that the new electoral administration was able to face challenges quite well and gained the trust of all political parties, while technology at the elections strengthened the citizen’s trust in the electoral process.
Another worrying point that was raised in the report was the publication of the database containing the personal data of over 900,000 citizens in the capital.
