Prime Minister Edi Rama has called on all private subjects to free all public spaces along the Albanian riviera in case they do not possess regular documentation to use that territory.

“There will be police presence along the entire coastline which will confiscate all sorts of beach umbrellas, sunbeds, or any other structure that is not in conformity to the documentation required”, added the head of the executive.

During the press conference, he also told Euronews Albania that the State Police requires major support when it comes to technology.

“In a democratic country, it isn’t the police only that guarantees everything and controls the behavior of people in the street, or conflicts ignited in a few minutes, which no police in the world can prevent. The State Police needs more support when it comes to technology”, PM Rama said.

The head of the Albanian government also declared that the anticipated changes within the police will take place earlier than planned.

“The restructuring of the police, be that in its organizational or human resources aspect, is a process that we have already started and I believe it will materialize even earlier than planned”, he said.
