The Parliament of North Macedonia has paved the way for the construction of Road Corridor VIII connecting Tetovo – Gostivar – Kercova – Trebeshina – Struga – Qafe Thane.
The country rolled out procedures to initiate construction work in its territory, while the road corridor will bridge the Adriatic Sea with the Black Sea.

The tender for the corridor’s projections and construction was won by the American company Bechtel & Enka.
The proposed legal solutions will fix the project and the construction of the infrastructure of Corridor VIII and X, as individual projects for capital investments of a particular national strategic importance.
The law will apply a new model for North Macedonia bypassing the need for a tender, with the government arguing that it will bring fast and optimal results.
On Facebook, deputy premier Artan Grubi said that the realization of Corridor XIII is “nearer than ever”.
“Daring to believe will make you achieve any dream. Few people had faith, many other dreamed of it, but some dared”, said Grubi.
In addition, US Ambassador in Skopje Kate Byrns said Corridor VIII must be seen as a priority for the entire region.
This border crossing sits along Corridor 8, which runs from the Black Sea to the port of Durres. Corridor 8 is a priority for @VladaMK, and it should also be seen as a priority for the region.

Corridor VIII will connect the Adriatic Sea and the Black Sea, starting from Italy’s Bari port to Brindisi, making a stop at the Durrsi Port and then continuing toward Tirana, Skopje and Sofie in order to arrive at the Port of Burgas in Varna on the Black Sea.
