The Democratic Party has announced the list of winning members that will be part of the party’s new National Council.
Part of the list are renowned names like: Aldo Bumçi, Agim Baçi, Andi Lila, Asllan Dogjani, Jemin Gjana, Glauk Olldashi, Ahmet Prençi, Robert Budina and journalist Orjela Nebiaj, who wasn’t able to enter parliament.
One thing that stands out is that Edith Harxhi, who ran for the party’s leadership race didn’t make the winning list, as well as Arben Ristani, who used to be DP’s General Secretary.
“I express my gratitude to the delegates who will represent all Albanian democrats, at the National Council. Good luck on your new task to all those appointed as members of the new National Council! You have the trust of all democratic women and men and the responsibility to fight alongside our citizens each day, for the small and big concerns of Albanian families, so that we can overcome these difficulties together and be their voice against all injustices. The challenges ahead of us are great, but so is our will and our determination,” said Basha.
The Chair of DP also noted that part of the new National Council of the Democratic Party, are many women and young members, while adding that DP is the only hope left to change Albania.
The 300 new members of DP’s National Council were chosen by the delegates of the National Assembly, through a process that was held this Saturday at the Palace of Congress.
