Doctor Najada Çomo has presented her resignation as a member of the Albanian Parliament. The news was just announced by PM Edi Rama in his closing speech marking the end of his second term as prime minister of the country.

During his word, Rama put an emphasis on the fact that fall and winter could prove to be very difficult, when it comes to the epidemiological situation in the country.

Rama called on all citizens to get vaccinated as soon as possible and not be skeptical towards the companies that produced the vaccines.

“None of the patients that are currently put on ventilators for assisted breathing are vaccinated. Meanwhile, some that have been vaccinated, amongst 80 patients that have been admitted to hospital aren’t exhibiting any severe signs that would make it necessary to intubate them,” said PM Rama.

“In addition, for all those that are skeptical about the Sinovac vaccine and are asking for Pfizer: Maybe a valuable piece of information for them would be that the hospital admissions are divided in half, in terms of those that took Pfizer in comparison to those that took Sinovac,” added Rama.

According to Rama, the vaccine is absolutely necessary, even for those that have recovered from a COVID infection.

Como’s mandate will go to the former defense minister, Mimi Kodheli, as the most voted women in SP’s list in Tirana.

According to the new ranking that is based on preferential voting, Kodheli was repositioned at the 20th place.

Como was ranked second in SP’s list in Tirana, during April 25th’s parliamentary elections.
