During his interview on Euronews Albania, jurist Adriatic Lapaj, said that Rama’s new government program is declarative, instead of actually being focused on finding concrete solutions to matters that need solving.
According to him, Rama simply copy-pasted this new program and worked over the old materials from his previous years in power.
Lapaj also emphasized that it is crucial at this point that we make changes to our Criminal Code, because it “has been unfairly meddled with for the longest time now”.
The jurist expressed his concerns about the new addition to the program titled the ‘Network of Coordinators against Corruption”, which e called a new system of ‘patrons’ that will be inserted into the justice system.
“Superimposing institutions is always a cause for suspicious results and huge failures,” – said the jurist.
Lapaj also added that around 55% of magistrates in the system end up getting out of it because of dismissals linked to the Vetting process or their direct resignation.
The jurist finally underlined that Albania is in dire need of new magistrates, who are focused on propelling a more qualitative and value-driven justice system.
