In a statement for the press, the leader of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha applauded Sali Berisha’s contribution to Albania’s growth, but added that the alliance and strategic partnership with the United States are “indispensable” and will thus remain “untarnished”.
“I have nothing to add to what I declared the previous week in regards to Berisha’s contribution to the development of Albania and our democracy and alliance with the US, but I want to be frank; the alliance and partnership between the Democrats and the United States should and will remain untarnished,” Basha said.
Basha referred to the new cabinet, voted by the Parliament on Thursday, as a ‘Public-Private-Partnership of plunderers whose only objective is to get wealthy in the back of the Albanian people.
