A 3.9 magnitude earthquake was felt in Tirana, according to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC).
A few days ago, several quakes struck the country’s north, the strongest recorded was measured 4.2 of the Richter scale.
The Geosciences Institute confirmed that the epicenter was in the city of Burrel, 97.4 kilometers northeast of Tirana, at a depth of 11 km.
On this day two years ago, Albania was rattled by a 5.8 magnitude earthquake, the most powerful in nearly four decades according to the Institute of Geosciences, leaving dozens injured and plenty of material damages, especially in the Durres area.
Another series of powerful earthquakes followed shortly after, with the strongest reported at a magnitude of 6.4, killing 51 people and leaving thousands homeless.
