In Albania, he was investigating police officers suspected of various misconducts, while he was personally under the radar of German authorities for being involved in narcotrafficking. This is the story of one of the specialists employed near the Internal Affairs and Complaints Services, known locally as SHÇBA, who was discharged from office a few days ago.
The expert, known only by his initials S.M, was discharged after German police confirmed that he was being investigated for his involvement in a drug ring.
According to sources, German authorities have also released a warrant. Euronews Albania reached out to the head of the department Muhamet Rrumbullaku but did not receive a response.
On Monday, the department officially announced that it was hit by a cyber-attack, but only after an inquiry from Euronews Albania, since the attack had taken place around eight days ago.
SHÇBA said that the attack had been prevented, but warned that potential highly sensitive data may have been stolen.
