Former Prime Minister and co-founder of the Democratic Party Sali Berisha was greeted by a warm welcome in Fier.

Berisha was accompanied by Flamur Noka during the visit.

During the meeting, Berisha said that the current leader abandoned the sovereignty of the Democratic Party by lowering the party to a “minimal level”, while also making a public apology for having supported Lulzim Basha throughout the years.

Regarding the decision of the United States to add him, as well as family members, to the list of people non-grata, Berisha said that it is “completely unfounded”.

Sali Berisha is on a national tour and meeting up with all party supporters to “restore the values of the Democratic Party”.

The former leader of the Democrats also had a message for Basha, calling on him to resign and “return where he came from”.

“We’re in a deep crisis, but we’ll overcome it. Your enthusiasm means the return of the opposition in the country and I highly appreciate it. Lul Basha, or let’s better say hostage-Basha, better return to where he came from”, concluded Berisha.
