The murder of Lezha DP’s officer, Saimir Hoxha, this Tuesday morning has sparked a reaction from diplomats and high officials.

US ambassador to Albania, Yuri Kim shared a post on Twitter, extending her condolences while urging everyone to be grateful for the heroism of those serving the public.

“Deepest condolences to family & colleagues of the Albanian State Police officer who was killed in the line of duty. Police & other first responders face danger on behalf of all citizens, and we are grateful for their heroism. We hope the perpetrators will be brought to justice,” – wrote Kim on Twitter.

Earlier, President Ilir Meta also expressed his regret for the murder of the police officer, while calling on the prosecution to further investigate the circumstances that allowed this incident to unravel, while also bringing the offenders before the law.

“The war against organized crime, drug trafficking and cannabis-m in Albania that has seriously damaged the image of our country in recent years, while taking the lives of many people, should be an absolute priority and be supported by all!” – wrote the head of state on Facebook.
