During tonight’s political commentary show ‘Shock’ on Euronews Albania, analyst Andi Bushati claimed that PM Edi Rama is trying to ‘sanctify’ the figure of Ardi Veliu as now-former Director-General of the State Police, by escorting him out with praises and grandeur.
According to Bushati, this is a ‘dismissal’ more than a voluntary act of resignation, arguing that the same thing happened with all of Rama’s ministers from Kosovo.
“Ardi Veliu at the head of the State Police has acted like a thug. He used the police force as a political tong for SP. He has acted like a thug because he has overstepped all of the competencies of the police by using violence against citizens. He used the police force as a machine for falsifying evidence,’ said Bushati.
In addition, the analyst said that Veliu ‘has been very far from the profile of a correct cop figure” and that he has been a “soldier of the socialist party dressed in a cop’s uniform’.
This is why, Bushati doesn’t think much of Rama’s final words on Veliu’s resignation, calling them ‘fake’.
