Italy put in force stricter anti-COVID measures today for those entering Italian soil from specific destinations.

The Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs announced earlier today that as a result of this official ruling, starting from November 26, all citizens from Albania, North Macedonia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia Hercegovina, Libya, Azerbaijan, Moldavia, Brunei and Armenia can only enter Italy if they can present a substantial motive for their travel.

At the moment, the above-mentioned countries will only be able to travel to Italy for one of the following purposes: work, health, education, urgent matters, returning back to their place of residence, visiting close family members who possess permanent residence in Italy, persons who are involved in an emotional relationship with an Italian citizen, athletes, technicians, race referees and companions that participate in certified activities of national interest related to the Olympics and Paralympics.

“Despite their nationality and the fact that they might have stayed in the country longer than 120 hours, citizens traveling from Albania to Italy will be subject to a 10-day self-isolation period, at the end of which they will undergo a molecular or antigen test,” – says the ministry notice.
