The Democratic Party’s National Assembly will convene on December 11, declared former prime minister Sali Berisha from Lezha on Friday.

“I have the pleasure to inform all Democrats in Albania and the world that the first National Assembly of the Democratic Party will take place on December 11”, stated an enthusiastic Berisha in front of supporters.

Berisha, who is also one of the founders of the Albanian Democratic Party, accused the current leader, Lulzim Basha, of not being “a man of his word” after the latter ousted him without deliberating the decision with the party’s national council.

“I would have accepted every decision of the National Council. He took every decision without asking the council and he did that because he knew that you can’t be sold as he is. That is why he didn’t dare to send the proposal to the national council”, declared Berisha.

Berisha extended his apologies to Democrats for having endorsed Basha, claiming that “he never deserved it”.
