Belind Kelliçi said on tonight’s ‘Now’ that according to DP’s current chair, Lulzim Basha, his mandate as head of the youth forum, ended the day he decided to join one of Berisha’s ‘Pulpit’ tour meetings.
“This isn’t something you can just announce through a Facebook status. The party has its own structures and institutions,” – said Kellici.
The head of FRPD told Euronews Albania that despite the fact that his mandate had already ended in 2019, he had made an agreement with Basha to continue his official duties because the party’s main focus at the time was the electoral campaign.
While emphasizing that his official resignation would be submitted very soon, Kellici underlined that he would not allow any other interferences to take place during the process as the new leader should only be elected by the youth forum itself.
Lastly, Kellici explained that his battle isn’t in the name of personal ambition. According to him, we need to pave the way for a new generation instead of simply recycling old elites.
