Deputy chair of the Legislations Commission at the Democratic Party, Oerd Bylykbashi was invited on tonight’s ‘Now’ with Erla Mehilli, during which he bluntly admitted to not recognizing DP’s Leadership as a legitimate body that can call the National Assembly as it lacks any constitution.
Bylykbashi also maintained that the Statute has vested the National Assembly with the power to officially discharge the party’s leader.
“18 members of the Leadership have been appointed through procedures that flagrantly violated the Statute. The very executive body of our party has been appointed in a way that is in direct violation of our Statute,” – argued the Democratic MP.
According to him, this body was never constitutionalized because not all 20 members were present during the first meeting.
“Through the lack of my participation and the participation of those that opposed it, the Leadership was never constitutionalized. The minimum of 20 members was never reached,” – he said.
In addition, Bylykbashi argued that there has been much debate recently between him and Basha, regarding the time dedicated to drafting the new Statute, which is why he was intentionally not made part of the working group by the party leader.
The Democrat also added that Basha has been rushing in order to capture the party and through the statute, he was able to centralize the party even more significantly.
