“In incidents that involve bus crashes, it is imperative not only for staff to be trained but also advising passengers on what should be done in these emergency cases”, said Disaster Recovery and First Aid Coordinator of the Albanian Red Cross Kristian Kura on Good Morning Albania.
Kura explained that first of all, passengers must use emergency exits.
“Buses have emergency exits which can be the windows. Usually, there is a hard metal object near the window. There are cases when people have gotten stuck inside and couldn’t get out as they don’t have this information”, he explained.
Kura reiterated that every vehicle must have a first aid kit, as well as a fire extinguisher.
Meanwhile, road expert Mamait Hodo raised another problem with the highways. According to him, many roads lack adequate lighting or signals and recommended auditing on road safety.
