Families are still trying to find out the causes behind the tragic bus accident that claimed 45 lives, of which 12 were children. Only 7 passengers have survived.
“I only know that my uncle is well, he’s in a stable condition. He has some fractures in his face, but he is doing fine”, said a relative of one of the passengers who were among the few lucky ones.
“We don’t have any conclusive information about our other relatives, about my aunt and cousin. Doctors tell us that they’re not there, so it is highly likely that they died at the crash”, said another relative.
Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the accident. Bulgarian officials have said that the bus derailed and crashed, but did not reveal whether it was engulfed by flames before or after the crash.
“We stand with our brothers from North Macedonia and we’re truly devastated by this tragedy. We pray for a quick recovery of all those survived”, said Bulgarian President Rumen Radev.
The names of the passengers have not been revealed, but it has been learned that 12 children and young people from the age of 20-30 were on the bus.
